1)    Why do you choose to hire candidates from abroad?

We are very much a multinational company – we have almost 70 different nationalities in our team. For the roles that we advertise we require various languages as we try to serve each client in their native language. As the market in the Czech Republic is so competitive now it’s especially important to hire people from abroad to support our operations. However, it is still important to keep a balance between native Czech people and employees from abroad.

2)    Why choose to set up offices in Prague?

The geographical position of the Czech Republic is key – it is more or less in the centre of Europe and so our target countries are within reach. It also has a 1 hour time difference from important countries to us – such as the UK, Russia, and Turkey.

The Czech Republic is also a country that is developing rapidly making it a great choice to relocate to.

3)    Why should someone choose to relocate to Prague?

Prague is a great city for anyone, there are so many things to do every day. It is a big multinational city, home to many big companies and it has a huge expat community right now. There are constantly food and music festivals going on in the city, so there should be something for anyone!

The city has great transport links making it easy to get around. It is also well located, making it easy to visit other European countries due to its central location in Europe. In addition, the cost of living is generally quite low and things tend to be pretty cheap, so your money goes further than in other European capital cities like Madrid or Berlin for example.

4)    What are some of your most important tips for writing a good CV?

Make sure it is well organised and all of the information is accessible quickly

Be specific about job titles, they should accurately describe the past position. You should also provide a summary of the tasks that you held in that role. If you have more than one position then you should refer to the skills that you learned in that position also.

When referring to your language skills you should use the internationally recognized level of the language, such as C1. Very often people describe this in a variety of confusing ways meaning that we have to do a language assessment.
You should also include a small section on your personal interests and hobbies, as potentially this could be the difference between you and another candidate.

5)    What are some common mistakes that you see in CVs?

- The most common mistake I see is about organization. A lot of the time information is difficult to find and things are written in the wrong format.

- Many people describe their level of language skills in the wrong way as previously mentioned, using things other than the regular A1-C2 format.

- Also, people do not give enough detail when describing their previous position's tasks and responsibilities.

6)    What are your best tips for candidates during a job interview?

The way you communicate is always something that stands out. It is important to speak in a structured way, giving concrete answers and specific examples. This demonstrates good comprehension skills and that you have spent time thinking about your answers. Check out some difficult questions and how to answer them.

During the interview, many people are tempted to just walk through their CV word-for-word, so it is important to avoid this.

You should also take the time to ask the recruiter clever questions – it is impossible that everything about the job will be clear after a 2-hour interview. It also shows that you are enthusiastic and curious about the role.
