Providing pre-sales technical support to Lenovo sales, technical teams and authorised Business Partners across EMEA; covering all aspects of technical support required to prepare a proposal including systems design, sizing and capacity planning, connectivity and interoperability with other product platforms and answering RFP/RFI's. Involving support for Lenovo DataCentre Group hardware products.
The successful applicant will provide advice and guidance on the solution and technical aspects of the products involved including positioning against competition. Able to identify and recommend when the customer should engage solutions assurance and provide advice on risk assessment on the bid. Excellent communication skills are required for the preparation of newsletters and technical sales collateral for IBM Business Partners. The applicant will be responsible for providing initial Pre-sales technical support engagements for Lenovo's clients, usually business partners, Sales reps or country technical specialists. Providing assistance with the research and preparation of RPI/RFI responses.
Educated to degree level, with an enthusiastic interest in supporting the customer and Lenovo's technology. Previous experience in a pre-sales technical support or technical support role is useful but not essential. Ability to work independently and with people at all levels in the organisation. General interest in Technical Sales Support and Business processes
Understanding of Lenovo DCG product range preferred
Knowledge of networking principles and computer architecture
Understanding of Competition, e.g. HP/Dell servers, etc
Understands and can articulate the technical product strategies.
Fluent in English and one or more addition language from the list below is essential, Proven written and oral communication skills, Experience in customer/BP facing situations, Ability to analyse complex technical issues, Ability to multitask and work under pressure, Ability to work as part of a team
