Advice for companies on publishing offers

Advice for companies on publishing offers

7 top tips for publishing offers

Publishing offers on a job board is very simple, but when trying to recruit multilingual, visibility is key. Here are our top tricks that will set you apart from the competition when publishing on the Europe Language Jobs site.

1.    Write a good title

A good offer starts with a good title. It is important to write a title that attracts the attention of the candidates but at the same time includes keywords that will help your offer to appear on the candidate's relevant offers and search within Europe Language Jobs.

Some useful keywords for titles are one of the required languages, the position, and the city. Some of the important skills or information about the offer (i.e. relocation package) can also be part of the title. Here are some examples:

  • French Customer Service (Full Relocation Package)
  • Technical Service Representative with German in Maastricht

2.    Publish at the right time

Typically, the times with the most traffic on our page are weekdays (Monday to Friday) between the hours of 12 and 4 pm CET

Publishing at hours when no other company is publishing could also work well because your offers will see less competition. For example, some companies post very early on Monday mornings or on Friday afternoons.

You can track the hours when your offers perform best via the analytics dashboard on your company profile.

3.    Publish your offers in English

Most searches made by candidates are in English. If your offer does not contain English keywords, then most probably it will not appear in the search, and so you’re at risk of losing out on valuable candidates!

4.    Include keywords and skills

When a candidate logs in to ELJ, they see their most relevant offers via their personal dashboard. To match your offers with relevant candidates, we use fields such as: ‘required languages’, ‘sector’, ‘years of experience’ and ‘skills’, so don’t forget to add skills to your offers! It will help to position you in these matchings as well as in searches on our page.

5.    Language requirements

Languages are the focus of Europe Language Jobs and are possibly the most important field when creating an offer. We need to take into account the level of the languages in an offer, and whether they are mandatory or not.

Mandatory: This allows only candidates with the selected level (or above) to be able to apply. We usually only see one mandatory language per offer.

Not Mandatory: Candidates with that language (at any level) will be able to apply. We recommend using it when posting offers with more than one language, and when recruiters can be a bit more flexible with the level of the language required.

6.    Use the analytics dashboard

Simply log in to your account to see our brand new analytics tools for companies: track the performance of candidates, including top countries, sectors, and most active hours. It’s also here where you can see your active services, weekly reports, and individual reports for active job offers.

Everything you need, all in one place!

7.    Use ELJ premium features

As standard, all of our Premium features and packs include Killer Questions:  this filters candidates when they apply and directly rejects those who don’t fit the sought profile.
Using the Refresh option automatically sends your job offers to the top of the list every seven days, increasing your visibility compared to a normal job posting, and you can Republish job offers with the click of a button.

We also offer visibility features such as Pinned Offer Spaces, which maintain your offer within the top section of the job lists of your target audience and have been proven to increase results up to four times. Mailings send your offer(s) to the candidates in our database who best match the requirements, and are especially useful when targeting a concrete audience, and Social Media Broadcasts allow us to take advantage of our huge engagement over our corporate channels to share your offers and attract new candidates.

Publishing offers should be easy, and we want to give you tools to do just that. To get the most out of your experience on ELJ, we recommend taking this advice into account when posting job offers and tracking their performance. We’re always on hand to help and can customise solutions to find out what works best for your company’s requirements.
