The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is a strategic HR professional, and a member of the Executive Committee. The HRM
partners with the leadership team to implement HR policies and procedures. The HRM serves as a strategic partner to the
shipboard leadership team by providing HR direction and guidance on all employee related issues. The HRM must have extensive
knowledge in all aspects of HR including performance management, conduct management, career development, employee
relations, MLC compliance, crew experience, learning & development and HR Administration.
The HRM serves as the Compliance and Ethics Officer, investigating any concerns and maintaining a close reporting relationship
with the Captain for all other crew-related matters.
Employees may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management. All duties and
responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the Company's Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
Reporting Structure:
Reporting to the Captain.
Shoreside reporting to the Fleet HR Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in line with the Silversea HR Manual and Vessel Management System/SQM
As part of the Executive Committee measures and actions how the ship is performing against Crew Matters survey results and
targets.
Oversees activities relating to crew change procedures, crew immigration/customs and all other issues related to Crew
Administration.
Work closely with the Finance Officer and Senior Accountant to ensure successful crew clearance and shore leave in each port
On all vessels apart from Expedition, HR Manager is the direct line Manager of the Crew Administrator/s and must act as an
inspirational leader ensuring the high performance of the HR and Crew Administration processes onboard
Proactively responds to issues or potential challenges quickly and efficiently, involving relevant people as required.
Communicating any challenges or complaints, keeping the Captain, Hotel Director and shoreside team promptly and fully
informed of all matters of significance.
Supports onboard leaders with performance management ensuring a fair and supportive process is consistently followed.
Delivers training, coaching and guidance on the Silversea appraisal process
Supports onboard leaders with conduct management, ensuring a nurturing environment when handling employee relations
issues using effective conflict resolution, assisting in resolving grievances, whilst fair and consistent process is followed.
Manages the Crew Welfare Fund through monitoring and controlling expenses.
Supports and executes Learning and Development initiatives as directed by the Fleet HR Team.
Facilitates all aspects of Talent Management, including career coaching, employee development, cross training, promotional
training and any other training programs.
Develops high potential Crew Administrators to strengthen their current performance and prepare for future advancement.
Strives to build employee morale and develops strategies in partnership with onboard leadership to enhance overall employee
satisfaction and engagement including driving onboard recognition programs.
Educates and supports the onboard management with regards to HR policies, procedures and standards
Creates a climate of trust and mutual respect.
Fosters team unity and collaborates well.
Drives positive employee relations by ensuring compliance with MLC, collective bargaining agreements, HR policies and
procedures and partnering with leaders to resolve conflicts / grievances.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics as the Compliance and Ethics Officer
onboard. Leads investigations into potential ethical violations and resolves accordingly.
Establishes and maintains professional relationships with government officials, port agents and other business partners in our
various ports of call to drive business effectiveness.
Ensures Company Brand Standards, Safety, Environmental and other company policies are consistently maintained

Experience in employee relations investigating, negotiating and resolving grievances and conflicts, preferably in a multi-cultural,
diverse environment
