Purpose of the role: 

The main purpose of a Senior GL Accountant is to oversee and manage an organization's financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting.  

They maintain the general ledger, record financial transactions, and prepare crucial financial statements, providing essential insights for decision-making and financial analysis within the company. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare month-end accruals journals and schedules.
  • Assist in producing detailed P&Ls, flash packs, and additional analysis.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Handle intercompany recharges and reconciliations.
  • Perform thorough Intercompany reconciliations and confirmations.
  • Perform fixed assets transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assist in month-end Internal Audit files and post Treasury Accounting journals.
REQUIREMENTS

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor in Finance Accounting 
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)/equivalent local professional qualification is desirable 
  • 5 years of finance accounting experience is mandatory 
  • 5 years of experience in working in a finance shared service 
  • Experience in change and transformation projects, including process reengineering, technology implementations, and cultural change initiatives 
  • English and Polish on professional level
  • Advanced IT/excel skills, prior SAP/HFM or equivalent are an advantage
