A Junior Sous Chef at Zuma you’ll be a key member of the kitchen team, acting as a support to the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and leading the kitchen team while maintaining the highest culinary experience.   Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant collection, inspired by the dynamic Izakaya dining style. This role will be based in Zuma Madrid. Zuma brings its world-renowned experience to the Spanish capital, featuring an iconic bar with our resident DJ's and our contemporary luxury dining. Zuma Madrid is proud to be part of the Azumi Collection.   Main Duties Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations maintaining Zuma’s standards
• Oversee the proper preparation, storage, and handling of food, ensuring strict adherence to Health + Safety and Food Safety regulations
• Monitor kitchen costs and budgets, taking proactive steps to reduce expenditure and improve efficiency where necessary
• Minimize waste by supervising deliveries and food preparation, ensuring the best use of ingredients
• Train, mentor and motivate junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and productivity while working closely with Front of House to ensure seamless service
